Américo dos Santos is Pastry Chef at Belcanto, the two-Michelin-starred restaurant by José Avillez. Originally from Santa Maria da Feira, he discovered his passion for cooking early – baking his first cake at just six years old. A graduate of the local hospitality school, he gained experience at Quarentae4 with Chef Pedro Nunes and trained at world-renowned restaurants such as Celler de Can Roca and Mirazur, both with three Michelin stars. Known for his precision and curiosity, he has participated in several international culinary events and was awarded Pastry Chef of the Year by Mesa Marcada (2020) and the International Academy of Gastronomy (2022).
